Captions over your slides or in a live stream

Two ways to show captions over other things on screen.

Floating captions

Press Float captions above Live translation in the console, or in the header of the attendee page. A small window with the captions stays on top of your other windows and apps. In Chrome or Edge on a computer, the button offers a window, with its settings inside it, or a video without a title bar, with its settings on the page. In Safari and on phones, the captions float as a video; if a phone asks, tap the button once more. If the button is missing or the captions do not float, this browser cannot float them; on an iPhone or iPad, open the page in Safari or Chrome rather than from the Home Screen or inside another app.

Over slides, play them in a window: a full-screen slideshow may cover the floating window.

A caption overlay for a live stream

  1. In the console's Share panel, choose Captions for OBS or vMix.
  2. Choose up to 2 languages, where the captions sit, their size and look, and how many sentences show at once. The preview shows the result.
  3. Press Copy the overlay link and add the link to OBS or vMix as a browser source, as the dialog explains.
