Who uses HoloTalk

Conferences and business events

Delegates and sponsors from many countries, and speakers who present in more than one language. Interpreting booths and headsets are expensive to hire for every room and every language, and many attendees would follow better if they could read along in their own language.

How HoloTalk helps

  • One microphone, every phone. The lectern's laptop captures the speaker; attendees scan the QR code on the screen and choose their language. No app, and no headsets to hand out and collect.
  • The big screen. The projector view shows the latest captions in up to 3 languages at once, with the QR code for people arriving late (in a public session).
  • Several speakers, several languages. Choose up to 3 spoken languages per session, and offer up to 10 translated caption languages.
  • Names spelled right. Import the programme and add the speakers', sponsors' and award names to the glossary before the day.
  • After the event. Attendees who ask receive the summary in the language they chose; the host downloads the transcript and subtitles.
  • Session reports. For each session, how many people were connected minute by minute and how many read each language.

Setting it up

  1. Create one session per room; pause it during breaks (paused time is not charged).
  2. Set the attendee limit to the number of people expected.
  3. Put the QR code on the holding slide and the room's screens.
  4. Test the join link on the venue's Wi-Fi, and give the lectern laptop a wired connection.

What it costs

Live captions are charged in credits by the minute, at a rate set by the attendee limit and the number of translated languages being read. For example, an hour with 3 translated languages uses 3,060 credits at an attendee limit of 250, and 6,120 at a limit of 1,000. The pricing page shows the rates by attendee limit.

When to add an interpreter

For keynotes with legal, medical or safety content, for formal negotiations, and for anyone who relies on Auslan, book qualified interpreters as well. HoloTalk's captions are generated automatically and can contain errors.
