Get names and terms right with a glossary

Add the glossary before you create the session or start an upload. It is used when speech is recognised and when it is translated.

On this page

Add terms yourself

  1. On the New session or Upload recording page, under Glossary, press Add term.
  2. Enter the term as it is said, and a note if it helps, such as who or what it is. A session can have up to 100 terms.
  3. To fix how it is written in another language, press Add translation and enter the language and the translation.

Terms from a document

  1. Press Import from documents, then Choose files, or drop the files onto the window: PDFs with text, Word files in .docx format, text or Markdown files, up to 10 MB each; Add files adds more. Under Or type or paste text you can also paste text. One import takes up to 10 documents and texts.
  2. Each file shows how much text was read from it, or why it could not be read; a file that cannot be read does not stop the others, and any file can be removed. Only the text and the files' names are sent, never the files, and the names are not kept.
  3. Check the price and press Find terms. HoloTalk proposes the names of people, places, organisations and awards and the specialist terms it finds, grouped by kind, each with the document it was found in.
  4. Untick what you don't want and add the rest.

The price depends on how much text there is, at least 2 credits, and the window shows it before you start. If it changed in the meantime, the new price is shown and nothing is charged until you confirm. A part that could not be read is refunded, and if nothing is found, nothing is charged.

Good to know

A glossary helps, but cannot guarantee, how names come out. Check important names early in the session.
